Getting there

The estate is at Adoukoffikro, in the commune of Abengourou, in the Indénié-Djuablin region. From Abidjan: about 205 kilometres, roughly 2 h 50 by road.

On the Agnibilékrou — Abengourou — Abidjan axis, tarring progresses in stretches: the surface alternates recent asphalt, reprofiling and laterite depending on the segment. It is a road, not a motorway.

For a day trip from Abidjan the constraint is not distance but light: leave early, head back before 5.30 pm.

Full postal address and GPS coordinates: not communicated at this date. Ask before you set off and we will send them.

A road where the asphalt stops dead and red laterite begins, with ruts and dust.

Season and light

  • Dec — FebHarmattan. The wind loads the air with Saharan dust and cuts visibility. Drier air, milkier light.
  • 5.30 — 6.30 pmSunset. It varies little through the year: we are near the equator.
  • 20 — 30 minDusk. That is all. Night does not settle in gradually, it tips over.
  • All yearUTC+0. Côte d’Ivoire does not change its clocks: the time shown at the top of this site is the time it really is there.

Questions we are asked

How long from Abidjan?

About 205 kilometres and 2 h 50 by road to Abengourou. The road is tarred in stretches and laterite in stretches: you do not travel at the same speed throughout.

What does it cost?

Prices are not published: the estate has not set them yet. The rate is confirmed on booking, in the WhatsApp conversation.

What are the opening hours?

Not communicated at this date. What is certain: the sun sets between 5.30 and 6.30 pm and night falls in twenty to thirty minutes.

How do you pay?

Wave, Orange Money and MTN MoMo are under consideration. No payment is taken on this site: the funnel is a demonstration.

Which languages are spoken?

French and English. The Ghanaian border is thirty kilometres from stage 3.

What should you bring?

Something to walk on earth in, water, sun protection. From December to February the harmattan loads the air with dust: allow for it if you photograph.

Are children welcome?

Yes — traditional games, storytelling, supervised school trips. Precise supervision and recommended ages are not fixed yet.

Are there visitor reviews?

Not yet, and we do not invent them. The estate is opening; the first reviews will come from the first visitors.
