The grove and its shadow

A wooded estate at Adoukoffikro, in the commune of Abengourou. You walk under an open canopy, among trees carrying fruit of different ages.

Come for a day

What is there

Walks under the trees, the biodiversity of the grove, rest areas, and spaces that host events — family days, birthdays, receptions.

The ground is earth. Depending on the hour it does not give back the same colour: ochre in full sun, blue-grey in the cast shadow of a trunk. It is the same earth.

An earth path through a wooded grove at first light, low mist between the trunks.

The promoter’s intent

Jean KOREKI, tourism consultant and promoter, carries the project: to make eastern Côte d’Ivoire a destination worth visiting for itself, and to put the region to work in doing so.

The estate and the Road of Kings are conceived together: you do not simply visit a place, you enter a territory — the Indénié, the Djuablin, Bron country. No operator in the East offered this pairing before.

Surface area, number of trees, capacity, jobs created, sustainability indicators: these figures are not established yet. They therefore appear nowhere on this site.

Two cocoa pods of different ages on the same trunk: one green, one yellow-orange.

The cocoa tree, caught in the act

A pod takes five to seven months to turn from green to yellow, and the tree does not ripen them together. One trunk therefore carries, at the same moment, a green fruit and a ripe one.

It is the best summary of this place: two states, one material, and it is the light — or time — that decides what you see.
